Twitter’s new requirement that users log in to access tweets lasted only a few days after implementation. Twitter has reversed the restriction. Thus, it allows visitors or individuals who clicked on external links to view tweets via web browsers.
About the New Feature of Twitter
Elon Musk explained that the restriction intends to be a “Temporary emergency measure.” He added, “We were getting data pillaged so much that it was degrading service for normal users.” Nevertheless, the action shouldn’t come as a surprise.
The company hasn’t formally announced the relaxation. However, many users are welcoming it as it made sharing tweet links via third-party communication applications like Instagram, iMessage, Slack, and others difficult.
Closing Note
Other interim measures include a cap on post views that ranges from 300 per day for new unverified accounts to 6,000 per day for verified accounts. It will address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.
