In iOS 17, Apple has implemented a new function. In addition, it will assist EV drivers in finding available charges.
The tech corporation showcased a number of new features and services that will include in the most recent software update on Wednesday at its annual developer conference, WWDC 2023. In addition, it includes real-time EV charging availability data given by Apple Maps. Along with the other services in iOS 17, the feature will be available this fall.
How will the new feature of Apple work?
Following the installation of the service, EV drivers can use a filter to look for availability across various charging networks and by plug type. According to Apple, users with compatible automobiles will be able to select a preferred charging network.
Apple has been keeping an eye on EV owners for a while now. During WWDC 2020, the company debuted an EV routing capability. The EV navigation function displays along a user’s journey charging locations that are appropriate for their electric vehicle. In order to decide whether to add charging points and the user’s route, EV routing also keeps track of the user’s current charge. In addition, it takes elevation and other environmental factors into account.
