Meta-owned WhatsApp is introducing an improved feature on its Windows desktop software. In addition, it will let users hold video and voice calls with up to 32 other people.
About the New Feature for Windows Desktop
The desktop application used to allow phone conferences with up to 32 people and group video chats with a limit of eight participants. WhatsApp has now increased the cap for platform-wide group video calls, though.
A feature that enables video calling for up to 32 people has reportedly started to be gradually released by WhatsApp, according to WABetaInfo. Only beta testers currently have access to this feature. In addition, they need to install beta update 2.23.24.1.0 in order to use it.
How will it work?
With support for up to 32 participants, group calling emphasizes the ability to make video calls to both contacts and groups directly from the Windows app. Selected beta testers may receive an invitation to check it out.
Additionally, certain users might see a different message stressing the ability to hold a video conference with a maximum of 16 people. This function also includes the capability to share screen content during video calls. However, it unveiled the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2322.1.0 upgrade. Additionally, specific beta testers may now have access to video messages after installing the most recent app update.
