WhatsApp is developing a number of new features in preparation for the upcoming app updates. The instant messaging program is creating features to enhance the user experience and privacy across all its platforms, whether Android, iOS, or desktop. 21 new keyboard emojis and a new approval option for group chat moderators are two future WhatsApp improvements.
According to Wabetainfo, a website that monitors all WhatsApp updates, the network is now testing 21 new emoticons for Android beta users. Users won’t need to look for a different keyboard to send the newest batch of emojis in chat.
Moreover, WhatsApp is developing a new feature will let group administrators approve new members. By limiting or regulating the number of people who can join a group and managing group chat more effectively, this feature will provide group managers more control.
WhatsApp approval for Group Admins
With WhatsApp’s most recent releases for iOS and Android, users can try the new approval feature. Those who want to restrict or manage the number of contacts who can join a group if participants join via a group invite link will find the recently introduced approval feature.
WhatsApp users who have enabled this feature in their settings will notice a message in the group conversation requesting admin approval before adding new members.
The feature is currently only accessible to beta users. However, it will soon be made available to everyone. Users can access the new group settings once they become available by going to Group Settings and selecting the “Approve New Participants” option.
WhatsApp announces 21 new emojis
The 21 new emojis are reportedly being tested by the Meta-owned instant messaging app for Android beta users, according to a report from Wabetainfo. This means that the new emoji palette is already available for Android beta users and is likely to be available to all Android users in upcoming updates.
Specifically, the new emojis are a part of the most recent Unicode 15.0 release for WhatsApp. As the new emojis were still in development, they were not formally accessible. However, WhatsApp is now testing and making the emojis available to its users.
Keeping the WhatsApp app updated will ensure users receive the most recent changes, which include the new emojis.
