WhatsApp Announces a New ‘Keep in Chat’ Feature

WhatsApp introduced a brand-new feature named Keep in Chat. Users may save messages in a chat that has disappearing messages enabled.

Users can make their conversations private when messages disappear after a predetermined amount of time. In addition, they may want to save certain communications, such as voice notes or crucial information.

How will the Keep in Chat feature work?

Users can save the messages they want to keep in chat for later use by using the “Keep in Chat” option.

According to WhatsApp, it should be up to them to decide whether or not other chat participants can save a message for later.

In order for this functionality to function, the sender must inform when a message is kept. In addition, users have the power to override the decision. The message will remove when the countdown runs out. Additionally, senders have to determine about keeping the message. 

Users can view stored messages arranged by chat in the Kept Messages folder. Stored communications on WhatsApp will show with a bookmark icon.

In the announcement, Zuckerberg stated, “We hope users enjoy this new upgrade and the flexibility to preserve the necessary communications. “This will implement across the globe over the coming weeks.”

Additionally, WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will let users annotate media files that have been forwarded.
