TikTok introduced a new feature to enhance the connection between its platform and popular music streaming services. This feature, called “Share to TikTok,” allows users to directly share tracks from Apple Music and Spotify to TikTok. Users can post these tracks to their For You feed and Stories, or send them via direct messages (DMs).
TikTok Enhanced User Engagement
The shared content can include music-related items such as tracks, albums, and playlists. In addition, they all link back to the respective streaming service. This integration enables users to seamlessly navigate between their favorite music apps and TikTok. As a result, it fosters deeper engagement with the music they love. TikTok has already been influential in shaping music trends, In addition, it allows users to add music clips to their videos, which often leads to viral trends.
With the “Share to TikTok” feature, users can utilize TikTok’s green screen feature or Photo Mode to creatively showcase the music content they share. Spotify users can share by tapping the “Share” button or the share icon on the “Now Playing” screen. Similarly, Apple Music offers a Share Sheet that presents options to post videos, and photos, or share music via messages.
Impact on the Music Industry
TikTok’s growing influence on the music industry is significant. As reported, songs that gain traction on TikTok frequently appear on the Billboard Hot 100 or Spotify Viral 50 charts. Ole Obermann, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, emphasized that this feature will promote artists and tracks effectively within the TikTok community.
TikTok Collaboration with Other Platforms
