Spotify unveiled its newest social feature Jam. In addition, it enables numerous users to mix their musical interests into a single playlist. The new feature is for real-time listening among a group of people, such as at a party. Additionally, the feature allows anybody may add music to a shared queue of songs to play next. About the New Jam Feature of Spotify
As per Spotify, everyone can now decide on music during a social gathering rather than just one person.
All Spotify users, whether free or paid, can contribute, but only Premium customers can create a new Jam. Users can choose the new option “Start a Jam” from any song, album, or playlist. They only have to tap on the speaker symbol at the bottom of their screen or the three-dot menu at the top to get started. Additionally, users have control over which device—like a phone or, more likely, a speaker—they wish to use to listen to the music.
How will it work?
However, users using the same public Wi-Fi network can join the Jam when opening the Spotify app.
Tapping your phone with Bluetooth enables, having a buddy to scan the Jam’s QR code from your phone. In addition, users can utilize the “share” feature to send a link over social media, iMessage, SMS, and more. Additionally, users may directly invite users to contribute to the Jam.
Users can see the profiles of the people who have added the music in question next to the track as they are added to the shared queue. The private session of the Jam can accommodate up to 32 individuals at once.

Closing Note
As the Jam’s host, users still have a lot of control over the music by default because they can decide who joins the Jam, rearrange the tracks, and skip songs they don’t want to hear. The host can, however, enable “Guest controls” on Spotify so that anyone can remove songs or reorder the tracks. The company anticipates adding more features to Jams in the future, though it wouldn’t say if a voting system to advance music up the list would be one of them.
