Korean tech giant Samsung is preparing to launch a significant software update for its flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra. In addition, it will resolve various camera-related issues. Additionally, the issues have remained since the phone’s debut in January. Despite the rollout of multiple One UI updates throughout the year, users have persistently reported troubles such as shutter lag and motion blur.
Expected Camera Improvements in August Update
According to tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming August update will enhance several camera functionalities. In addition, these enhancements encompass improvements in white balance, HDR optimization, and the reduction of image and video overprocessing.
However, it’s important to note that the update will not address issues related to telephoto and night-mode images captured beyond the 10x optical zoom. This specific problem has resulted in photos taken at 9.9x magnification appearing superior to those at 10x. As a result, it suffers from increased noise.
Development and Testing of the Update
The first indications of this update surfaced in May. In addition, Ice Universe suggesting that the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra would bring substantial camera improvements.
At that time, the update was in its early testing phase. Additionally, it would undergo rigorous testing before being made available to the public. Speculation also suggests that this update might be available alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
Expansion of Galaxy AI Features and Samsung Commitment
In recent months, Samsung has extended its Galaxy AI features, such as Circle to Search, Live Call Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, and Generative Edit, to a wider range of devices.
However, some of these features have not been made available on older models, likely due to hardware limitations. With this forthcoming update, Samsung aims to enrich the user experience for Galaxy S24 Ultra owners. As a result, it tackles long-standing camera issues and reinforces its dedication to quality and innovation.
