Samsung, the Korean smartphone manufacturer, will unveil its flagship Galaxy S24 lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, 2024. The lineup is likely to include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones. In addition, these devices may even go on sale in some key regions before the end of the month.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 smartphones will start soon after the January 17 launch. According to leaked information from South Korean blogger Naver, Samsung will offer a storage upgrade for all pre-ordered Galaxy S24 devices. This means that customers who have paid for the 512GB version of the smartphone will receive a 1TB storage variant of the same smartphone.

Samsung is likely to offer a discount on purchasing Galaxy Buds FE and the Galaxy Watch.  

Storage Variants and Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy S24 may be available in 128GB and 256GB variants. However, the Galaxy S24+ could be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. However, there are no firm details on pricing yet.

Leaked marketing materials have revealed an intriguing feature called “Generative Edit” in the upcoming Galaxy S24 smartphones. Samsung describes this feature as a tool to remove unwanted elements from photos. Additionally, it draws comparisons to Google’s Magic Eraser tool introduced in the Pixel 8 series.

AI-Powered Features and AI Subscription

Samsung will integrate AI into the Galaxy S24 series. Thus, it will create experiences similar to those featured on Google Pixel phones powered by its own Tensor chipsets. Samsung Gauss is the generative AI on board the Galaxy S24. In addition, it powers features such as document summarization, content translation in third-party apps, and assistance in composing emails.

There have been suggestions that Samsung may charge a subscription fee for its AI-powered features. However, the details and validity of this claim are uncertain.
