Opera has unveiled an innovative feature for its browser. In addition, it leverages artificial intelligence to enhance tab management through natural language queries. This new capability allows users to execute various actions such as grouping, pinning, bookmarking, and closing tabs simply by typing commands.
Easy Access to the Aria Command Bar
Users can activate the Aria command bar by pressing Ctrl + / (or Cmd + / on Mac). Once triggered, they can input straightforward requests like “Group all video tabs” or “Bookmark all currently open tabs.” Notably, Opera emphasizes that all processing for these commands occurs on the client side. As a result, no data leaves the device.
Opera Targeted Commands for Specific Sites
The new feature also supports commands tailored to specific websites or categories. For example, users can issue commands like “Close my YouTube tabs” or “Group all my shopping tabs.” This targeted functionality makes it easier to manage tabs related to particular activities or interests.
Simplifying Tab Management for Heavy Users
For users who frequently juggle numerous tabs—balancing work, entertainment, and personal interests—these commands offer an efficient way to declutter. Creating tab groups won’t reduce the total number of open tabs. However, it can significantly enhance organization and navigation, especially for those with hundreds of tabs.
Opera Alternative Activation Method
In addition to the command bar, users can access this feature by right-clicking on a tab. Additionally, this provided they have more than five tabs open. This offers an additional method for quick tab management.
Rollout and Future Prospects
Opera is rolling out this feature as part of its AI feature drop program in the developer version of the browser. In addition, the company hopes that it will eventually be available in the general release version.
