The Nikon-SBI Innovation Fund has announced an investment by Nikon Corporation in the French firm Unistellar SAS, which manages smart telescopes (investment amount undisclosed).
The Purpose of the Investment
This investment aim is to encourage the development of business synergies for both businesses.
In 2021, Nikon and Unistellar signed a master collaborative development agreement for smart telescopes. Since then, Nikon has advanced creative solutions for the field of consumer astronomical observation.
Unistellar created the eVscope 2, a smart telescope, by fusing the technologies and expertise of the two businesses.
By giving the thrill of astronomical observation and piquing people’s interest in the cosmos alongside Unistellar, which is creating extraordinary growth, Nikon is utilizing its broad range of optical technology and expertise to contribute to the advancement of science.
