Microsoft introduced Microsoft Fabric, a new data and analysis tool, at the ongoing Build 2023 event. It includes OneLake, a SaaS, multi-cloud data lake. OneLake wires all Fabric workloads, similar to all Microsoft 365 hooked into OneDrive.
Microsoft Fabric includes the following seven workloads, as stated by the company:
Data Factory (preview):
It offers more than 150 connectors for on-premises and cloud data sources. Additionally, it provides drag-and-drop data transformation experiences and data pipeline orchestration capabilities.
Synapse Data Engineering (preview):
It offers authoring experiences for Spark, as it instant start with live pools. It also has the capacity to work with others.
Synapse Data Science (preview):
It provides data scientists with a complete approach to creating complex AI models. Additionally, it facilitates collaboration and organizes, deploys, and trains machine learning models.
Synapse Data Warehousing (preview):
With industry-leading SQL performance on open data formats, it offers a combined lake house and data warehouse experience.
Synapse Real-Time Analytics (preview):
It gives developers access to telemetry, logs, data coming in from Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and more. Additionally, it does extremely fast and with very little latency semi-structured data analysis on large volumes of data.
Power BI in Fabric:
It offers analytics powered by AI and visualization that leads the industry. Additionally, it makes it possible for business analysts and users to derive insights from data. Additionally, Microsoft 365 has tight integration with the Power BI experience. It provides pertinent information about the workplaces of business users as a result.
Data Activator (coming soon):
It provides Real-time data detection and monitoring. Additionally, it has a no-code experience. In addition, it may start notifications and actions when it finds certain patterns in data.
According to Microsoft, businesses may utilize a single product with a uniform user interface and architecture that offers all the tools needed for a developer to pull insights from data and present them to the business user using Fabric.
AI powers the Microsoft Fabric. Every layer of it includes Azure OpenAI Service. Additionally, it will assist clients in maximizing the value of their data. As a result, developers will be able to use generative AI to their data’s advantage. It will also help business users gain an understanding of their data.

Closing Note
The new analytical tool connects the Microsoft 365 applications. A single pool computer powers a Fabric task that customers can purchase. Additionally, they are able to develop solutions that freely utilize any workload without encountering any difficulties in their operations.
