Microsoft Teams Adds New Snapchat Filter

Microsoft has announced the addition of Snapchat Lenses to Teams. In addition, it will give users more customization and expressiveness during virtual meetings. This week, the new Snapchat filter function will roll out to users globally.

Microsoft stated in a blog post that starting this week, Teams clients worldwide will have access to a collection of 20+ of the most well-liked Snapchat Lenses. In addition, it will provide the user more opportunities to express themself, forge connections, and make meetings stand out.

The computer expert has added that Snapchat Lenses are already available and set up for use. As a result, there is no need to download anything or add a new app to Teams in order to access it.

How can a user access the Snapchat filter?

By selecting the “Snapchat” tab under “Video Effects,” users could begin using the Lenses.

They can change into cartoon characters. In addition, they can add amusing backgrounds to their videos using the Lenses.

Choosing a filter after having previously joined a meeting:

  • At the top of your meeting screen, click “More…”
  • Then select “Video Effects.”
  • In the right pane, select “Snapchat” from the “Filters” section as you scroll down.
  • View all by scrolling down, then pick the preferred lens.
  • Click “Preview” to view the chosen lens privately or “Apply” to activate your preferred lens.

The internet giant added that Snapchat Lenses are optional. Thus, anyone who prefers to keep their video feed free of effects can decide not to use them.

According to the firm, users can also use the “smooth look” filter to “glow up.” In addition, they will appear polished and camera-ready without any animations.

Microsoft has also revealed that starting in May, 3D avatars will be a feature available to all Teams users.
