At its most recent Connect event, Meta unveiled generative AI into its products. Presently, it is starting with Instagram to deliver on finally integrating generative AI into its products. At the event, Meta demonstrated brand-new AI picture editing tools. In addition, it announced a sticker-making function for the social media app.
About the New Tool by Meta
Instagram users may remix the aesthetic of their photographs using a new tool called “restyle.” In addition, it uses an AI-generated filter. It enables old images to get a brand-new look. According to Meta, “Think of typing a descriptor like ‘watercolor’ or a more detailed prompt like ‘collage from magazines and newspapers, torn edges’ to describe the new look and feel of the image you want to create.”
Backdrop Tool
Meta also released the “backdrop” tool. In addition, it makes use of generative AI. This time, it makes use of it as a green screen tool. Additionally, AI powers this tool. Further, it allows users to demand specific backgrounds by saying, “Put me in front of a sublime aurora borealis.”
It will display an updated version of the image in front of the pertinent background. Both “backdrop” and “restyle” posts will term as the phrase “the use of AI to reduce the likelihood that people will mistake them for human-generated content.”
Closing Note
It is unknown how these labels would appear. However, users have noted that “images generated by Meta AI” have recently appeared on Instagram. Additionally, “restyle” and “backdrop” haven’t yet been given a release date from Meta.
Users will be able to find its new AI-generated stickers on Facebook Stories, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Through language prompts, users can utilize this feature to generate personalized stickers for their chats and Stories. This feature will be made available “over the next month” to “selected English-language users,” according to Meta.
