Google will soon announce the release of new extreme heat alerts. People can see the alert in the search section. In addition, the new tool will help people remain safe during heat waves. The company will implement a new extreme heat alert in the upcoming months. 

Now, when individuals look up information on extreme heat, they will find information on the start and end dates of heat waves. 

How will the new alert of Google work?

The alert will provide cooling-off advice. In addition, it will alert users to associated health issues that they should be mindful of. The search results will prominently show all of this data.

The search engine giant has collaborated with the Global Heat Health Information Network. In order to guarantee the accuracy of the data, it surfaces in the heat alerts.

Hema Budaraju, Google’s senior director of products for health and search, said during a briefing with reporters, “we’ll be launching a new feature to raise awareness about extreme heat to keep people safe, cool, and healthy.” 

In the event of an extreme heat wave, users will soon notice specific features highlighting pertinent news, suggested actions, and local information.

The new heat warning is just one of the many ways we’re updating search to make it easier for people to locate timely, reliable, and useful information.

For many years, Google has displayed warnings for events like wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, and more. Starting today, Google will also show alerts for heat waves. According to the business, the feature was launched as worldwide search interest in heat waves peaked in June 2022.

A tool called Tree Canopy combines artificial intelligence and aerial imagery. Additionally, it will help cities understand their current tree coverage. In addition, it will better plan urban forestry initiatives. 

Further, it has grown from 14 cities to nearly 350 cities worldwide, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Mexico City, Paris, Sydney, Toronto, and more. This year, Google wants to bring the tool to thousands of new locations.

The statement made today comes a day after Google announced new methods for users to confirm the information on Search. In addition to expanding some of its current tools, such as “About this result,” the search engine giant is introducing new ones dubbed “Perspectives” and “About this author.”
