Facebook, owned by meta, has extended the maximum length of reels. Users can now post reels, or brief vertical videos, that last up to 90 seconds. Previously, the reel duration previously restricted to 60 seconds on Meta-owned social media networks.
Facebook has recently adopted the 90-second limit reel length that Instagram implemented a few months ago. The extra 30 seconds should give producers more leeway to produce captivating reels. It is still considerably shorter than TikTok’s 10-minute video restriction, which is the longest on any vertical video platform at the moment.
In addition to this modification, Facebook has made a number of smaller adjustments to the reels platform. With only a few clicks, users can quickly and easily construct reels utilizing memories and pre-built templates. Reels are currently Meta’s fastest-growing content type, drawing both consumers and content producers.
A new templates feature that enables users to create Reels using popular themes is one of the many creative tools the firm is releasing. Users may now create new Reels using the same format as one they just saw due to the new feature previously introduced to Instagram Reels last year. Templates resemble TikTok’s own templating feature in certain ways.
TikTok (restricted in India), YouTube Shorts, reels on Instagram, Facebook, and other sites that allow users to give vertical short-form material suitable for smartphones are just a few of the places where short-form content is gaining popularity.
A user doesn’t have to spend as much time watching a video as they would with a traditional video (horizontal format). In order to create compelling videos, several short video platforms also allow content creators to include licensed music in their works.
