Discord announced that it is launching a new Family Center opt-in service. In addition, it will make it simple for parents and guardians to find out more about the people their children are chatting and friends with on the site. About the New Feature of Discord
Family Center consists of two main parts: a weekly email summary with details about your teen’s activity and an activity dashboard that can access from Discord at any time. Parents will be able to see which Discord groups and individuals their children are interacting with. However, in order to safeguard their privacy, they will not be able to see the content of the discussions.
How will this feature work?
Discord requires both the parent and the teen to finish setup through the app in order to begin using Family Center. As per Discord, the company will not share teen account activity in Family Center without the teens’ permission. Parents from their teenagers can request a QR code that may get generated in Family Center. The teenager will get informed when a parent connects once the setup process is complete.
The Family Center will populate information about their teen’s Discord activity from the previous seven days as soon as they accept their connection request. This includes how many people they have called or messaged, how many new friends they have added, and how many servers they are actively playing on. Family Center will only emphasize activities taking place after your teen has accepted your connection request, not a comprehensive record of activity.

The new parental controls for Discord are comparable to those that Snapchat introduced in its app last year. Similar to Discord’s scheme, Snapchat only gives parents access to information about the friends and contacts their adolescent has, not the messages or files they have exchanged.
Although a young audience frequently uses Discord, the site rarely appears in the discussion on the effect that social media use has on teenagers.
