All iPhone users now have access to iOS 16.6 and comparable updates for other devices due to Apple. According to the release notes, the most recent software version includes “critical bug fixes and security updates.”
Apple marks the launch of the latest software updates for all users.
About the New Update By Apple
The release notes apply to the upgrades for macOS 13.5. In addition, it applies to the following operating systems: iPadOS 16.6, tvOS 16.6, watchOS 9.6, and iPadOS 16.6. The HomePod update also includes “performance and stability improvements.”
Since May, Apple was developing and testing the beta version of iOS 16.6. Apple only recently made the first release candidate available.
This particular update for iOS 16 is likely to be one of the last before turning entirely to security upgrades. In addition, it doesn’t add any new user-facing features. The addition of Hebrew language compatibility for Apple TV and HomePod is an exception.

Closing Note
However, iOS 17 will include more features. Additionally, it will be out in September. However, it won’t support the iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus. As a result, iOS 16 is the last update for those particular devices. But for years to come, Apple will keep releasing security patches for older iOS versions running on supported devices.
