Amazon announced the launch of “Amazon Anywhere,” a brand-new interactive shopping experience. The service extends Amazon’s online marketplace to video games and smartphone applications. In addition, it started with Niantic’s brand-new augmented reality game Peridot in the real world.

The majority of purchases made in virtual worlds are now restricted to in-game digital things and virtual currency. However, Amazon wants to start giving customers the choice to purchase tangible goods. Thus, it launches a new offering.

The revelation made suggests that Amazon is attempting to interact with users in novel ways in order to broaden its influence outside its online marketplace. The company added American-based retailers to its Buy with Prime service earlier this year.
