When users tap the Instagram button in the Threads compose box, they will see a grid displaying their Instagram posts and Reels. This functionality will enable users to easily select and publish their desired Reels on Threads. As a result, it will potentially increase their reach and engagement.

Meta Cross-Posting Enhancements

Many users already share their Instagram content on Threads to gain followers. In addition, users have enhanced interaction with their posts. This new button could simplify the process for them. Earlier this year, Meta also started testing a feature that automatically cross-posts content from Instagram to Threads. Additionally, Facebook has tested a similar feature.

Previous Initiatives for Increased Engagement

Meta began displaying carousels of Threads posts on Facebook and Instagram last year. In addition, in order to boost the visibility of Threads posts and encourage more users to engage with the platform. However, some users expressed dissatisfaction with their posts being suggested on these platforms. As a result, this leads Meta to introduce an option to opt out of the recommendation program.
