YouTube has finally fully rolled out its collaborative “Add Yours” sticker for YouTube Shorts. The company first announced this feature in July. In addition, it allows users to prompt others to share their own take on a creator’s video. Additionally, it is similar to Instagram’s “Add Yours” feature and TikTok’s “duet” tool.
YouTube Prompting Creativity and Engagement
With the “Add Yours” sticker, users can post a Short. In addition, they can add stickers to encourage others to create content around the same theme. For example, a user could post a video of their dog. Additionally, they can add stickers to prompt others to share their own pet videos. The feature aims to spark a chain reaction of content and engagement.
Accessing and Using the Sticker
Once a user has recorded a video, they can tap the stickers icon, select the “Add Yours” sticker, and enter a prompt. Once the user publishes the Short, viewers can respond with their own video. Additionally, they can tap the sticker to see other responses.
YouTube Part of a Broader Suite of New Features
The company announced the “Add Yours” sticker as part of a larger set of new features for YouTube Shorts creators. These include the ability to transform longer videos into Shorts. In addition, it will create auto-generated captions with customizable fonts and colors.
