Apple Unveils New Final Cut Pro Products

Apple announced the release of Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Camera. The company has previously revealed during the company’s iPad event in May. Additionally, Apple introduced updates for Final Cut Pro for Mac.

Apple Enhancements for iPad Pro with M4 Chip

The company has enhanced the iPad version to leverage the capabilities of the new iPad Pro with an M4 chip. Apple claims that the new chip enables up to 2x faster rendering. In addition, it supports up to 4x more streams of ProRes RAW compared to the M1.

Live Multicam Feature for iPad 2

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 debuts with a new “Live Multicam” feature. As a result, it allows users to wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously. Users can access a director’s view of each camera. Additionally, they can manually control their settings using the new Final Cut Camera app.

This companion app enables users to connect multiple iPhones or iPads. Final Cut Pro seamlessly transfers and syncs each Live Multicam angle. Thus, it facilitates a smooth transition from production to editing.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 now includes a highly-requested feature: support for external projects. Thus, it allows users to create or open projects without utilizing internal storage space.

On the other hand, Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 introduces new AI features. The “Enhance Light and Color” feature automatically adjusts video for color correction. However, the “Smooth Slo-Mo” blends video frames for enhanced movement.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 are now available as free updates for existing users. New users can access Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 for $4.99 per month or $49 per year. Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 is available on the Mac App Store for $299.99.
