Google revealed new capabilities for Google Wallet. The feature includes the capacity to turn photographs into passes and boarding pass integration with Google Messages. In addition, it includes an additional security measure for saving health cards.
About the New Feature of Google Wallet
According to the business, customers will save barcodes or QR codes from items like loyalty cards or gym passes to Google Wallet by scanning them.
The capability also allows users to scan these codes from an image that has a QR code for an e-commerce return or a digital parking ticket.
Along with helping clients save a digital copy of their insurance card to Google Wallet, Google is collaborating with the insurance provider Humana.
Additionally, with the HMRC app, individuals in the U.K. can save their National Insurance Number to the Wallet app. These medical cards will be in a private folder with the label “Private Pass.” Users won’t be able to access them without a second authentication method, such as a fingerprint or device PIN code.
New Features of the Wallets
Additionally, the app is increasing its support for American government-issued IDs. A phone running Android 8.0 with device lock enabled is required for users to be able to save a Maryland ID or driver’s license to the Wallet app. As per Google, Arizona, Colorado, and Georgia will receive comparable functionality.
The company stated that more states will get support in the upcoming months. Later this year, it said, it would launch applications for saved IDs, such as checking online accounts or renting a car through car-sharing services like Turo.
The world’s largest search engine is also partnering with Renfe, Spain’s national railway business, and Vietnam Airlines. The boarding pass can then save to Google Wallet for users who receive their booking confirmation through Google Messages. Furthermore, users can send Google Wallet-ready passes to consumers through restaurant reservation systems like TagMe.
Closing Note
Google is trying to add corporate passes and badges for entry to various office locations to Google Wallet. The company is also expanding the use of the app for transport passes. Users in Germany can now conveniently keep their Deutschland ticket for use on all public transport.
