Google to Unveil New Tool to Gmail

Gmail users can now distinguish authentic senders from imposters thanks to a new tool that Google brings to the platform. For verified users who have implemented Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) in Gmail, the tech giant added a “blue tick.”

Google announced on the Workspace blog: “In 2021, we introduced Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) in Gmail. In addition, it is a feature that requires senders to use strong authentication. Additionally, it verifies their brand logo to display a brand logo as an avatar in emails.”

Users will now see a checkmark icon for senders who have implemented BIMI, expanding on that feature. It said, due to this users, would be able to distinguish communications from real senders from those from impersonators.

Why are blue checkmarks on Gmail significant?

According to Google, the blue check mark will make it easier for consumers and email security systems to recognize and block spam. Senders will be able to benefit from their reputation for reliability.

Who is qualified?

All users of Google Workspace, old G Suite Basic and Business users, and users of personal Google Accounts have access to the blue checkmark. On May 3, the feature was available to end users.

How can Gmail users obtain blue checks?

The brand-controlled use of logos within compatible email clients is made possible by the upcoming email specification known as Brand Indicators for Message Identification, or BIMI. By delivering brand logos to the customer’s inbox, BIMI makes the most of the work a business has put into providing DMARC protection.

One must verify their logo on BIMI in order to receive the verification mark. Create an account on BIMI using the domain information to accomplish this. Then, upload the company’s logo and file a trademark application for it. Now that the company logo appears on Gmail with a blue checkmark, users can request a verified mark certificate (VMC).
