Kobo is now making its Kobo Plus subscription service available in the US. Subscribers of the $7.99 per month subscription have access to 1.3 million books from Kobo’s library. The app’s books are not all accessible to users.
This new subscription will go up against Kindle Unlimited from Amazon. In addition, the Kindle costs $9.99 per month. Amazon offers a shortened Prime Reading plan as part of its $119/year Prime membership.
About the Kobo Plus Plan
The Kobo Plus scheme has three tiers. Kobo Plus Read users have unlimited access to books. Users can also listen to more than 100,000 audiobooks with Kobo Plus Listen. Each service has a monthly fee of $7.99.
Users have to pay US$ 9.99 per month for access to both books and audiobooks. Books can then be accessed on all Kobo devices by users. They can also access the Kobo app.
It’s significant that the company’s iOS, Android, and desktop apps permit offline book reading.
Kobo Plus used to be available outside of the US in countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
